Figure 1 and Figure 2 are the same building, however they are taken at different angles and potentially different sesons.

LETTER MIXING

I believe the person who recreated the multi-panel figure  (Person B)  mixed up his letter A with his letter B, compared to the methods of the original person A.

PICTURE TAKING

I also think that the recreator took the pictures of the building using a drone or something, not a 3D satellite map as the angle of the building is not the same as the Figure A. I think the picture of C is very well done, but could be a little closer, as the recreated image looks a lot further.

GRAPHICS 

I also noticed that the recreator put arrows in their figure, when the original person did not. Finally, I believe the original photo has used a bold A, B, C, in their font, while person B did not.

At the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California, Janelle Ayres and her colleagues had many mice that got sick. Ayres and her colleagues had infected mice with Citrobacter rodentium, which in turn inflamed the colons of the mice. Half of the mice lived, and half died. These mice all had an identical lifestyle, they all ate the same and did the same activities during the day. The point of this experiment was to determine what causes genetically identical mice to respond differently to certain pathogens. She realized that the mice that died, did not have sufficient iron. Thus, she decided to treat the living mice (with pathogen C. rodentium) with iron supplements. This was a rather holistic approach, as she did not go in with full war to try to use antibiotics, and drugs that can later develop resistance in the mouse. This approach supplies to the internal system of the mouse, which boosts the immunity of the mouse, rather than targeting the pathogen with an antibiotic.

Today I got the flu vaccine. It is commomly known as influenza and can be a potentially serious disease that can be so severe that you need to be hospitlized. Millions of people get the flue every year, and so many people die from when it is too severe. I got the flu vaccine to make sure that I do not get sick during the swim season. An annual vaccine is very important to protect yourself. The vaccine can help you avoid getting the flue. Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body for about two weeks after the vaccination. These antibodies provie protection against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine.

I would like to talk about nutrition. Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrition and other substancs in food in relation to maintenance and growth. I think it is a very important topic as I believe not many people know the importance of proper eating. As an athlete, I need to consume a certain amount of calories and if I do not do this, I will be burning muscles instead of burning fat. I think it is important to see a nutritionist and consider what nutrients are in the foods. For example, it is important to differentiate the good fats from the bad fats, and to know that avocado's are good fats, but McDonald's is bad fats. To know that it is better to eat many meals during the day rather than eating large meals few times a day.

sonoran desert

 The Sonoran Desert's location is at latitude 25° to 33° N. Hot deserts contain sparse populations of plants, due to periods of high temperatures and low water availability. This high temperature results in high rates of evapotranspiration levels, which in turn results to very little water available for this biome.  The temperature is a lot higher than the average annual precipitation. This has a large influence on plant forms. Because it is so dry, stem succulents occur in the cacti of these desert plants. Plants with succulent stems can store water in their stems so they are not left dry during dry seasons. Cactuses are the main desert plants. Cactuses can absorb a large amount of water, which is beneficial as this desert has a higher annual precipitation than most hot deserts. Most the flowers located in this desert also depend on rainfall so they can flower, and for a hot desert, this has a high amount of annual precipitations, so vegetation numbers must be high

In my microbiology class, we are learning in depth about replication, transcription and translation. Each time a cell replicates, the double strands of DNA splits in 2. Each of these single strands are soon going to become a double strand as they were getting their DNA copied. In transcription, DNA is transcribed to mRNA. This carries the necessary information for protein synthesis. mRNA trasncription occurs in the cytoplasm. Addditionally, transcription is the first step in gene expression. Then, tRNA occurs in the nucleus, and rRNA occurs in the nucleoulous. The translation machinery occurs in the ribosomes, which acts like a taxi in the eukaryotic cell. At the end of translation, we have a polypeptide.

I would like to write about lactate acid today and its relation with high intensity sport. Although I do not know too much about it, I am a swimmer and can feel it accumulate during a sprint set. When I say sprint set, I mean a fast swimming set that I must dispense all my energy on, and give it my 100%. Lactate acid is an organic acid and is used witha aerobic exercise. High lactate levels has a side effect of an increase in acidity of the muscle cells, and that is the primary reason that you begin cramping and say "I cannot feel my legs" after a lactate exercise. There is a severe life threatening disease called lactate acidosis and that is when the lactate levels are way way too high! Another way to get this is via the medication "metformin" which can increase your lactate acid level peaks to an unhealthy state.

Today I learned in my Ecology class the different kind of forests, and a lot about oceans. I specifically was interested by phytoplanktons because they can only live in the euphotic zone. The reason for this is that the water needs to be able to reach sunlight so they are able to do photosynthesis. They are similar to terrestial plants because they need photosynthesis to grow. They remind me of a buoy that you use swimming, because all they do is float and absorb sunlight. They also require nutrients from the ocean such as nitratees, phosphates and sulfur, because they then convert them into proteins, fats and carbohydrates. In a well balanced ecosystem, they provide food for sea animals such as whales and shrimp. The reason why I find them so cool is because they are the foundation of the sea life. They do however have toxis effects to humans!
