PedAgree is software to rapidly compare output from seven sibship reconstruction and thirteen parentage assignment programs to known pedigrees for accuracy assessment, and to one another for congruence. Sibship accuracy comparisons quantify the number of correctly assigned individuals to true full sibling groups, while parentage accuracy comparisons quantify the number of correctly assigned parents and the relation of incorrectly assigned individuals. Additionally, a new pedigree can be assigned by comparing outputs from sibship and parentage programs, constraining the parentage for a full sibling group to the most commonly assigned parents for that group that exceed a user-defined threshold. This method has been demonstrated to increase assigned accuracy of parents by an average of 47% over traditional parentage assignment programs (Coombs et al, In prep.).
