Lymphatic tissue and nodules

This is a photomicrograph of several lymphatic nodules (LN) in the wall of the small intestine. This cluster of nodules is also known as a Peyer's patch. They are surrounded by loose connective tissue (CT) and extend into the intestinal glands (IG).
The lighter areas in the nodules are the germinal centers.
