HHMI Entering Mentoring Seminar

ABOUT THE SEMINAR:
The HHMI Mentoring Seminar is a 1-credit seminar held every year. This year's seminar will meet in the morning for 7 sessions from June 2-18, 2009. We can only accommodate 15 people, so please sign up early. The scheduled dates and meeting times are:

The seminar will meet in room 215 Morrill III South. A continental breakfast will be served at every meeting.
The seminar is for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who mentor students in research and classroom laboratories. Participants will discuss the role and responsibilities of a mentor, and will explore teaching expectations and challenges. The group will use the guide “Entering Mentoring” developed by HHMI Professor, Jo Handelsman, and her colleagues and co-founders of the Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
