New HHMI Laboratory Courses
GOALS:
To provide a strong foundation in the biological sciences that will prepare our undergraduates for advanced training and careers in research, we are offering 4 new courses at the introductory level that integrate the teaching of biology with physical and quantitative sciences. These new honors courses are open to all qualified students and will each train 24-48 students/semester. In each course students will: make connections between physical, biological, and information sciences, gain classroom laboratory experience in fields of Bioimaging and Genomics, work in teams on research projects, and utilize quantitative methodologies. This curriculum will better prepare our undergraduates for research opportunities in areas requiring interdisciplinary and quantitative skills and make them more competitive in research-based careers.
