The students will be looking at slides made after various lengths of time after release of the cells from arrest. We will provide the zero timepoint, and they will produce the rest by putting the cells in formaldehyde. There will be a count-up timer sitting by the cells, so they can tell record when the cells were fixed. For each time-point cell sample, they will look at 10 fields of view, and count the total number of cells and how many cells are budding. They will measure the longest dimension (in microns) of mother and bud cells on 5 cells in each field.
