Submissions to the Gallery

Submissions to the Gallery are encouraged from all Life Sciences faculty, staff, and students. Images accepted into the Gallery will be randomly selected to appear on the Biology Department home page and from the course sites supported by the BCRC. Images may also be printed in large format and appear posted in the hallways of the Biology Department. Images in the Gallery may be removed from active display after one year, but will remain archived in the gallery indefinitely.

Submissions to the gallery should include:

• A png, jpeg, or gif image, approximately 386 pixels wide.
• A very short title (15 or fewer characters in length).
• A list of the authors in the form "Brewer,S.D.;Martz,E."
• An informative caption that describes what the image represents and the methodology that was used to the acquire or generate the imagery. This caption can be simple text, but can also include HTML formatting tags and hyperlinks to pages containing additional information.

Optionally, submissions may also include a thumbnail image sized exactly at 147x51 pixels. (Thumbnails that represent a cropped section of the entire image are preferred, but any artistically rendered cropping or reduction of the image is acceptable).

Submissions should be sent to Steven D. Brewer <sbrewer@bio.umass.edu> with the images as email attachments. Images will be added to the Gallery as time permits.

The Gallery is operated by the Director of the Biology Computer Resource Center. The Gallery reserves the right to refuse to post submissions evaluated by the BCRC Steering Committee and found to be inappropriate for the Gallery on any grounds.
