About the Image

This 3D finite element model of a bat skull was built from a series of 2D micro ct-scans. This image represents part of a collaborative project between Biology (Dumont) and Mecahnical and Industrial Engineering (Grosse) to study the relationship between feeding behavior and skull shape in the evolution of mammals.
