About the Image

This image shows details of the sequence-specific recognition of DNA by a transcriptional regulatory protein, yeast gal-4. The image was obtained with two clicks of the mouse in the QuickViews menu system of Protein Explorer: SELECT Chain A, DISPLAY Contacts. In Protein Explorer, the image can be rotated and modified to display other structural features of macromolecules. The software is free and works on Windows and Macintosh PC's. It can be used to explore any of thousands of macromolecules for which structures have been published. Protein Explorer provides extensive help and is easy for beginners to use.
