Welcome to the Gallery of Biological Imagery

The Gallery of Biological Imagery was established in 1999 as a respository for interesting and scientifically significant imagery produced in the Biology Department at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The Gallery now accepts imagery from all life science departments at UMass Amherst. Each image is provided with a caption that describes the image, who created it, and how it was generated.

The images appear as thumbnails on the Biology Department homepage and many life sciences course sites. The thumbnails are linked to a page in the gallery which shows the complete image and associated information. Visitors may also browse the imagery.

All Life Sciences faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to submit imagery to appear in the gallery. Please read the submission policy.
