What is it like to be experiencing your first semester here at the University of Massachusaetts, Amhert?

Well, it is not my first semester at UMass, it is my 20th year! I hope you enjoyed the summer and the time you spent on campus during the New Students Program. I am pleased you decided to sign up for the First Year Seminar class. I know the first semester is a stressful time for students - having to attend new classes, navigating the campus, meeting new friends, living in the dorms, and dealing with a host of other issues that come with leaving high school and going to college. I am hoping that the class will be helpful, relevant and fun. I thought this journal format might prove interesting for us all. Feel free to add your thoughts about your experiences at the university. If you have a great class, found a favorite place to study, to eat, to socialize, share it with the class.
